The Role:
As a Carer, you'll be an integral part of our close-knit team, assisting residents with daily activities, fostering companionship, and creating a home-like atmosphere. Your warmth, compassion, and dedication will contribute to the overall well-being of our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
• Build meaningful relationships with residents through active listening, engaging conversations, and companionship.
• Provide emotional support, empathy, and reassurance to residents and their families.
• Monitor and observe residents' physical and mental well-being, promptly reporting any changes or concerns to the nursing team.
• Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of care provided.
• Organise and participate in recreational activities, social events, and outings that cater to our residents' interests and abilities. Create an environment that promotes socialisation, mental stimulation, and enjoyment.
• Ensure the safety of our residents by following infection control procedures, maintaining a clean environment, and adhering to health and safety regulations.
Essential Criteria:
• Certificate III or IV in Aged Care, Individual Support, or equivalent qualification (or willing to undertake the training required to obtain this qualification through an internal Traineeship facilitated by ValleyView)
• Prior experience in Aged Care, disability support, or a related field is advantageous.
• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to engage with residents, families, and colleagues with sensitivity and respect.
• Understanding of Aged Care standards, regulations, and protocols.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and adapt to a dynamic healthcare environment.
• A genuine passion for providing exceptional care to seniors and a commitment to promoting their well-being.
• Police Clearance - No More than (6) months old.
