Ideal candidate:
The Building Services Carpenter role requires a person with well developed building knowledge, good organisational skills and the ability to undertake building construction, repairs and maintenance to Council's structures.
Is commitment to completing quality work in a timely manner required to ensure that the completion of works programs meet the expectations of the
structure owners in accordance with agreed levels of service.
Good listening and communication skills are essential to ensure directions and instructions are carried out safely, promptly and accurately.
Scope of work:
- To provide building construction, supervision of contractors, maintenance and repairs to Council's building assets as required by the Capital Works Officers and Technical Officers.
- Carry out construction, maintenance and repair duties as required by the Capital Works Officers and Building Services Technical Officers.
- Rectify any obvious maintenance and repair work encountered to ensure the building is maintained to a reasonable standard.
- Maintain good working relationships with staff and occupants using Council owned buildings when work is being carried out.
- On completion of work, ensure all materials and equipment are removed from the building and property is left in a neat and tidy condition.
