Position Overview:
As a Technician you will be a skilled and versatile individual responsible for performing a wide range of repair, maintenance, and handyman tasks. Your role is critical in ensuring that our facilities and properties are well-maintained, safe, and fully functional. From fixing minor issues to handling general maintenance, your expertise will contribute to creating a comfortable and pleasant environment for occupants and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
• General Repairs:
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders, addressing issues such as broken fixtures, leaking pipes, damaged doors, windows, or furniture.
• Carpentry and Woodwork:
• Perform various carpentry tasks, including installing shelves, cabinets, door frames, and window sills.
• Repair or replace damaged woodwork, such as trim, molding, and furniture.
• Painting and Surface Maintenance:
• Prepare surfaces for painting, including patching holes and sanding rough areas.
• Apply paint, varnish, or other finishes to protect and enhance the appearance of walls, ceilings, and other surfaces.
• Equipment Maintenance:
• Conduct regular checks to ensure that all tools and equipment are in good working condition.
• Preventive Maintenance:
• Implement a preventive maintenance program to inspect and address potential issues before they become major problems.
• Safety and Compliance:
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes while performing maintenance tasks.
• Install safety features, such as handrails and grab bars, to promote a secure environment.
• Outdoor Maintenance:
• Maintain outdoor areas, including gardens, lawns, and walkways.
• Perform seasonal tasks, such as snow removal and leaf raking.
Requirements:
• Proven experience as a Handyman or similar role, with a strong background in general repairs and maintenance tasks.
• Proficiency in using various hand and power tools.
• Basic knowledge of Plastering and carpentry principles.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks efficiently.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal abilities to interact with tenants, clients, and team members effectively.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical or vocational training is a plus.
