Case Manager

About the Role
Barnardos are looking for a full-time Family Support Case Manager for a 6-month contract in the Family Support Program based in Cranebrook 2749,
The Family Support Caseworker will:

• Provide case management support to young people who access our service.
• Assist clients who access the Youth Program with the provision of practical support; information/ advice; and or referral to internal or external services.
• Monitor child protection concerns, consult, and act in accordance with the NSW Children and Young Person’s (Care and Protection) Act, Mandatory Reporter Guide and Barnardos Australia “Child safety and wellbeing” Policy.
• Managing incoming referrals for the Program.
• Conduct initial assessment interviews with young people and their families.
• Organise workshops and educational programs for parents and youth
• Liaise with schools and the community to arrange Drug and Alcohol workshops.
• Complete assessment and case planning for clients.

  
About You
As a Family Support Case Manager, you will ideally have;

• Tertiary qualifications in Social Science, Community Services, or a related field.
• 2 years’ experience working with young people and their family in a child protection context.
• Demonstrated understanding of the needs and concerns of families and children within the Penrith LGA.
• Demonstrated experience in working with families with multiple, complex needs and that may be experiencing acute crisis.
• Knowledge of child protection issues with the capacity to identify when level of risk requires safety planning and statutory child protection intervention.
• Current Full NSW Driver Licence.
• Capacity to participate in an on-call roster, providing a 24/7 response to children, young people, and families.

Salary: Base $71,136 to $82,054 per annum plus leave loading plus superannuation.  Packaging available to receive $15,860 of your salary tax free. Motor vehicle packaging available on selected roles.
To be considered for roles with Barnardos you will need to have (or be willing to have conducted) a National Police Clearance and current Working with Children check Clearance (or APP number) and for the ACT a Drivers History Check, Working with Vulnerable People Card and CYPS Check.
