Your new role

This is an exciting opportunity to join us at QBE during a growth phase in our NSW Workers Compensation division, in both our Nominal Insurer and TMF business units.

As a Case Manager you will have the opportunity to do your best work as you take on responsibilities for the end-to-end management of claims under the NSW Workers Compensation scheme. You will assist injured workers with their injury management and return to work plans whilst maintaining relationships built on trust with all stakeholders involved.

The role of a Case Manager will see you return people to health and work with empathy, expertise and act as the key point of contact for stakeholders, including injured workers, their employers, doctors, and other medical professionals.

The goal is to seek the best possible outcome for all parties involved, whilst supporting them through what is often an emotionally challenging time.

Managing a portfolio of Workers Compensation claims in line with scheme regulation, you will be empowered to take a holistic case management approach to provide positive customer connections.

Key activities as a Case Manager include:

  • Effectively set expectations, communicate and educate injured workers and their employers

  • Work in partnership with the injured worker and their employer to manage their journey in returning to work

  • Ensure timeframes and compliance measures are adhered to in line with legislation and company policy

  • Document and apply decision-making principles

  • Meet and work in partnership with internal and external stakeholders to achieve best practice outcomes

Whether you have previous experience or you're new to the Workers Compensation industry, our comprehensive New Starter Pathway training program and ongoing coaching will set you up for success. This begins from the very first day of your employment, providing you the support you need to grow your expertise and progress your career over four proficiency levels from Foundational to Intermediate, Advanced and Expert.

The first four weeks of our New Starter Program are focused on establishing a solid foundation for success, so during these four weeks you'll need to attend the office regularly. After this, you'll work in a hybrid way with three days working from home and two days in the office, giving you just the right balance to further embed your learning and continue building connections.

Recruitment Process

There are three short stages to the recruitment of this role:

  • Application - it will take approximately 5 minutes to complete the application form where you will share your CV and answer some standard questions
  • Text/Chat Interview - you will be invited to complete a chat based interview, where you will be asked behavioural interview questions (similar to a phone or face to face interview) which should take about 20-25 minutes to complete
  • Face to Face Interview - you will meet 2 of our leaders from Managed Fund Claims and get the opportunity to learn more about the role and what it's like to work at QBE. We want to meet you in person, and we are sure you feel the same way. This will be the final interview stage.
