Coal Services is a specialised health and safety scheme that provides an integrated suite of services to help identify, assess, monitor and control many risks in the NSW coal mining industry. Our preventative and responsive services include workers compensation, emergency response, health and training. Our workers compensation business unit is Coal Mines Insurance (CMI) which provides support to employers and injured workers in their recovery.
About the role
We are currently seeking a motivated Case Manager to join our team on a full-time, fixed term basis, until October 2023. We are seeking a self-driven, highly organised professional to proactively and effectively manage Workers Compensation claims to achieve sustainable return to work solutions for the NSW coal mining industry. This is an excellent opportunity for you to assist the team to continue to deliver an excellent service to our clients and injured workers.
Role responsibilities
- Collaboratively develops claims strategies with IMS
- Communicating with relevant stakeholders including but not limited to the worker, Injury Management Specialists, Legal Specialist and Claims Leads
- Proactively manage all aspects of claims management in line with legislation, business rules and policies and procedures
- Participate in business planning to identify opportunities to improve performance or resolve issues
To be successful you will have
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic understanding of medical terminology
- Minimum 2-3 years Workers Compensation experience
- Experience in claims management and the insurance industry
- Understanding of the Coal Mines Workers Compensation legislation (desirable)
- An ability to work effectively with all levels of stakeholders including injured workers and allied health professionals
