We are seeking a passionate Full-time SST Case Worker (within our Supporting and Securing Tenancies program) to join our Coffs Harbour team.
Reporting to the Team Leader, you’ll collaborate with our customers to develop and implement person centred plans, guide and support customers to develop goals that will further enhance their living skills, community engagement, financial and health service access, pro-social activities, employment, education and training which will support customers to not re-offend.
SST Case worker will provide early intervention and support to people who are at imminent risk of becoming homeless, currently experiencing homelessness and/or living in unsustainable and unsafe accommodation.
You will collaborate with customers to develop and implement person centred plans, build individual and family capacity considering the needs of children, enhance living skills, resilience and community engagement, to assist with finding suitable long term accommodation.
The day to day
- Manage a case load and support our customers with their re-integration to society
- Provide information, advice and advocacy to customer utilising a person-centered approach
- Develop and review case plan to reflect customer’s need and preference
- Partnering with local services to deliver the program
- Partnering with community corrections to identify suitable participants
Sustainable Tenancy support programs may also assist tenants in successfully achieving broader non-housing related outcomes
- Increased linkages, referrals and access to services—including mental health, drug and alcohol, financial counselling and community support services
- Enhanced psychological wellbeing and mental health; for example, self-esteem, happiness, self-confidence, and a sense of security, safety and control
Skill and Experience
- Passion to assist vulnerable people to be housed is required
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent knowledge and experience
- Ability and confidence to communicate and work with other staff outside of the immediate team
- Must have the capacity to lift 10 Kilograms unassisted, in order to support customer need
