About the role
The Birth Family Advocacy Support Service empowers, informs, and supports birth families from a diverse range of cultural backgrounds to build on tools to increase confidence, skills and knowledge to advocate for themselves, make informed decisions and positively engage with systems such as Child Youth Protective Services.
In this position, you will provide information and Advocacy Support to families engaged with the service, assign referrals to Case Workers in the team and work closely with the Regional Manager to review case allocation and workflow.
What you will bring
• Sound casework/case management experience including assessment of client needs and development of case plans
• Experience working with parents and families involved with The Child Protection System including working knowledge of the Children and Young Persons Act 2008
• Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with stakeholders
• Well-developed interpersonal and written communication skills
• Working with Children Check
• Drivers licence

This role is covered by the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award - Level 4. Salary from $82,063.28 FTE + superannuation + access to salary packaging.
