Join our team as a Case Worker for the Escaping Violence Payment (EVP) program. You'll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide strength-based, client-centered, and trauma-informed support to individuals facing barriers in leaving and rebuilding their lives.
This role involves offering short-term case management, financial assistance, and wrap-around services to maximise safety and minimise trauma for clients engaged in the program.
This position is a 12 Month Fixed-Term Maternity Leave Contract starting ASAP
Key duties and responsibilities
- Conduct initial screening, risk assessments, safety planning, and develop client care plans
- Deliver wrap-around interventions, including referrals to other agencies
- Liaise with referrers and stakeholders, maintaining strong relationships
- Assess and process EVP payment applications according to guidelines
- Improve participants' financial situation and financial management skills
About You
As an ideal candidate, you will be able to approach and empower clients to best represent themselves in addressing their issues or where appropriate advocating on their behalf.
- Experienced in trauma-informed and strength-based practices
- Ability to clearly convey information to clients and stakeholders in a manner that is accurate, timely, and easy to understand.
- Experience delivering phone-based services would be advantageous
- Tertiary Qualification in Community Services, or similar qualification with experience in related field
- Experience in the domestic violence sector and have familiarity with the dynamics and challenges of domestic violence situations.
