About the Opportunity
Consumer & Business Services (CBS) is looking for anexperienced and organised professional for its Casino and GamblingSenior Project and Policy Officer role. This is a newly createdrole where you can make your mark through the provision of advice,analysis and drafting of various documentation in relation to theenforcement activities of the Casino & Gambling Team.
The role plays a key part in contributing to the strategic andoperational focus of both proactive compliance activities andeducation and communication projects in the Casino and Gamblingspace. The role will be responsible for reviewing legislationdeveloping business rule documentation as well as training anddevelopment material, to record and drive the operations of theCasino and Gambling Team.
We want to hear from you if you have:
- Proven ability to develop policy proposals and provide sound, well-formulated, evidence-based advice and solutions on complex issues.
- Experience in managing projects end to end (initiating, planning, executing and closing).
- Experience working closely with legislation.
- Demonstrated ability to covert complex or lengthy processes or concepts into documented form that is able to be operationalised within a business to ensure best outcomes and compliance.
- High level problem solving and strategic thinking skills.
- Demonstrated high level interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, including an ability to represent views and negotiate successfully.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and major tasks, dealing with competing pressures, multiple stakeholders, unplanned change and meeting tight timeframes.
- Understanding and knowledge of the Casino and Gambling regulatory environment (desirable).
- Previous experience developing business rule documentation for a compliance-based government regulator (desirable)

The Compliance & Enforcement Branch is responsible forconducting operational regulatory activities in relation tolegislation administered by CBS.
The Casino and Gambling Team is responsible for undertakinginspections and other compliance and enforcement activities tocontribute to the regulatory functions of the Liquor and GamblingCommissioner under the following Acts:
- Casino Act 1997
- Authorised Betting Operations Act 2000
- Gambling Administration Act 2019
- Gaming Machines Act 1992
- Liquor Licencing Act 1997
- Lottery and Gaming Act 1936
The Casino and Gambling Senior Projectand Policy Officeroperates within a highly complex, politically sensitive andchanging environment and is required to exercise a high level ofjudgement and decision-making broad direction.

Special Conditions for Employment
Employment is dependent upon a National Police Certificateclearance that the AGD finds satisfactory.
