Position Description: Casual - Boat Trailer Workshop all-rounder
BACKGROUND
We are a Boat Trailer manufacturer supplying and servicing SPITFIRE ALUMINIUM BOAT TRAILERS. We also fit boats to trailers and provide mechanical and repair services, spare parts, and accessories.
POSITION
The role is to assemble, service, support, and promote our Boat Trailers, and also help maintain our workshop and workplace environment. We require specific experiences, skills, and attributes as summarised below.
REQUIRED SKILLS (Summary)
- Mechanical fitting, assembly, and electrical skills for Boat Trailer assembly, service, and repair, including bearings and seals, brakes, lights, etc.
- Competent user of powered and portable mechanical workshop tools
- Ability to follow technical diagrams and technical instructions.
- Related trades or demonstrated technical skills, aptitude, and experience.
- Basic computer skills (occasional emails, document printing, etc).
- Valid driver’s licence (must have)
- Forklift licence (desirable) and recreational boat licence (an advantage)
REQUIRED ATTRIBUTES (Summary)
- A safe worker, committed to duty of care to yourself and others.
- Physical fitness, dexterity, and agility for a variety of medium to heavy manual handling tasks
- Boating and Boat Trailer experience
- Attention to detail, consistent high-quality workmanship, and willingness to adhere to procedures and systems
- Availability and willingness to work a few days away on occasion, for regional boat fitting, trailer service, and support activities.
- Personal presence, and customer service and engagement confidence

REMUNERATION & WORK CONDITIONS (Summary)
- Casual position, 28 to 38 hours per week, depending on work load
- All employees must be eligible to work in Australia.
