selectability provides and coordinate NDIS supports, aged care services, clinical services and deliver government funded mental wellbeing, carer and youth support programs.

About the role

An exciting opportunity awaits for Registered Nurses to join the team. selectability, a reputable aged care provider is providing supports in the Lower Gulf of North Queensland. These positions offer a chance to work in a supportive and caring environment, making a positive impact on the lives of older persons.

Registered Nurses play a vital role in the lives of older persons by providing quality, responsive and compassionate care that supports a trusted and long-term relationship with our older persons. This role will see you delivering optimum service by managing cases, providing assessments, administering medication, assist with wound care and provide support and direction to non- clinical staff in the team. Working closely with the Enrolled Nurses, Care Workers and the collaborative healthcare team, the Registered Nurse will provide person-centred care to support the older persons.

About you 

To be successful you must: 

  • flexible to work across a 24/7 roster
  • have a positive attitude 
  • possess clear and effective communication skills 
  • possess excellent clinical problem-solving skills
  • demonstrated understanding of the Aged Care Quality Standards
  • experience working in a team environment 
  • ability to work independently and effectively manage time
  • ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision, prioritise your own work
  • be able to follow policies and procedures at all times 
  • proficiency in use of technology including but not limited to phones, emails and internet
  • be able to work with culturally and linguistically diverse communities and individuals 
  • be able to multi-task in a crisis
  • excellent problem solving capabilities with an advanced diagnostic and methodical approach
  • ability to interpret and understand policies and legislation
  • advanced life support skills

You will also need:

  • full APHRA registration to practice as a Registered Nurse in Australia
  • relevant Nursing qualification
  • previous experience working in an Aged Care residential facility (highly desirable)
  • previous experience working in remote areas (highly desirable)
  • current Flu vaccination
  • a current minimum P1 "C" class Queensland drivers licence 
  • a current yellow card exemption or an NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or the ability to obtain prior to commencement)
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module 'Quality, Safety & You' completion certificate (visit https://training.ndiscommission.gov.au to access this free module). at completion of the course, you will be provided with a certificate of completion which you can forward to **********@selectability.com.au
