What you'll be doing
The Violence Abuse and Neglect (VAN) Oncall/Disturbance List clinician position will contribute to the delivery of quality, crisis intervention services in a forensic medical and psycho-social crisis response service.

Selection Criteria
- For Level 4 sites responding to sexual assault, Feminine gender is a genuine occupational requirement(Section 31 Anti-Discrimination Act 1977) for sexual assault services.
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency(AHPRA) as a Psychologist OR relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work or Counselling with eligibility to the respective Australian professional association.
- Commitment to and demonstrated competencies in delivering crisis counselling and support services to victims of interpersonal trauma. This includes knowledge of the impact of interpersonal trauma on the victim and an understanding of legislation and NSW Health policies in Sexual Assault, Domestic and Family Violence and Child Protection and their application in a health setting.
- Ability to attend LHD crisis response meetings and willingness to seek debriefing, attend clinical supervision and complete further specialised training as required.
- Availability to work as part of an after-hour roster (overnight and weekends) and be in reasonable proximity to GBH or SERH and attend the ED within one hour or willingness to be on a contact list for other sites.
- Demonstrated ability to work as an effective team member within a multidisciplinary team environment and to work autonomously and collaboratively.
- Advanced oral, written and interpersonal communication skills and an ability to maintain comprehensive and accurate clinical records.
- Evidence of a current unrestricted drivers’ licence and the ability to maintain. Ability and willingness to drive/travel as the role requires. This may involve driving long distances and overnight stays.
