About the Role
This position will provide exceptional customer service and assist in the safe operation, maintenance and upkeep of the vessel
Working closely with vessel crew, key duties include:

  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Assisting with safe daily operations of the vessel
  • Identify and notify Master/Operations of safety concerns and assist with implementation to prevent incidents
  • Participate and contribute to emergency response plans
  • Monitor and organise vehicle/passenger loading safely and efficiently while providing clear directions to passengers
  • Responsible for general maintenance and overall cleanliness of the of the vessel
  • Securely moor the vessel at each pontoon, coil mooring lines neatly at the completion of each trip and inspect and splice mooring lines when required
  • Carry out deck patrols during shift and ensure the vessel is protected from being damaged when in its berth
  • Understand and meet the requirements detailed in the vessel’s Safety Management System, to actively participate in emergency response procedures
  • Manage ticket sales and checks ensuring compliance

Skills, Qualifications and Experience
Essential
  • General Purpose Hand - Certificate of Competency
  • Senior First Aid Qualification and CPR
  • High level of computer literacy including various software packages
  • Highly developed interpersonal and solution focused skills
  • Experience working effectively within and across diverse teams
  • Strong and effective communication skills
Desirable
Experience in the maritime transport industry preferred
Master
