St Michael's Association Inc. is a not-for-profit non-government organisation of approximately 200 employees working across North and Northwest Tasmania. Supporting, empowering and providing accommodation services to Tasmanian's living with a disability, to develop their independence, has been how St Michael's has operated for over 50 years. This is an exciting opportunity to join the St Michael's team and contribute to this mission.
Current Opportunity
We are looking for suitably qualified, dynamic, and energetic Support Workers who are dedicated, values-oriented, and people-focused to support our participants attending our St Michael's Day Programs.
Roles will be offered on a casual basis initially. Due to the nature of our services, please only submit your application if you have availability for work between the hours of 7-3pm
To join our team, you must be committed to providing a high-quality service, which offers choice, support, and flexibility, while enhancing community participation and quality of life, to the participants that we support.
Skills, Experience, and Checks
- Cert III in Individual Support (Disability) - preferred.
- Current First Aid Certificate.
- Current Working with Vulnerable People Card (or ability to obtain).
- Current National Police Check (or ability to obtain).
- Experience supporting people with disabilities including those with complex behaviours.
- Demonstrated computer skills.
- Sound written and verbal skills.
- Genuine interest in assisting people to succeed in quality of life improvements.
- Demonstrated commitment to Work Health & Safety (WHS) legislative requirements.
- Commitment to following STMA policies and procedures.
- Full Tasmanian Drivers Licence.
