About the Role
Providing personalised support to individuals with disabilities in Launceston and surrounding suburbs, successful candidates will have the opportunity to work across a variety of programs including Community Access, Supported Independent Living, Respite and Day Program.
Candidates with a background in horticulture, farming or with a green thumb and passion for supporting people with disability are encouraged to apply to put your skills towards our Day Program, supporting our clients in caring for chickens, sheep, guinea pigs and farming!
Key Responsibilities
- Provide active person-centred support
- Follow behaviour support plans
- Promote client goals through enjoyable activities
- Provide personal care
- Ensure safe manual handling and hoisting
Skills & Experience
- Confidence in providing Personal Care
- Previous experience or demonstrated passion for working with people with disability
- Unrestricted Australian driver’s licence
- First Aid and CPR certificates
- Ability to drive wheelchair and 12 seater vans
Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including a National Criminal History Record Check and obtain an NDIS Clearance.
To be considered for and appointed to a position at Life Without Barriers, you must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with a minimum of two (2) doses or hold a valid medical exemption certificate, in accordance with Life Without Barriers Employee COVID-19 Vaccination Policy. You will be required to provide evidence of your vaccination status during the recruitment process.
