About the Role
Joining our photography team, you will help us capture school portraits of students from prep through to Year 12 as well as school staff. For the right person, National Photography also will also be able to provide ongoing opportunities throughout the year to expand into our other areas of photography such as groups, preschool, dance and events.
Casual photographers are paid an hourly rate for all training sessions both pre-training and on job training. When taking photos, you will be paid a starting rate of $165 for the first four hours (even if you work less than 4 hours) and then $28 per hour thereafter with a higher weekend rate available. You will also be reimbursed for any mileage when using your own vehicle. Falling under the General Retail award, National Photography supports your workers’ rights and pay above award wages.

With work available on going and the opportunity for further work, National Photography offer flexible casuals’ hours with rosters allocated 1-3 months in advance to help provide certainty in your work. Hours vary across the variety of jobs we capture.
Our photographers have a great team mentality supported by a culture of inclusion, support, and development. We offer comprehensive training both on the job and in dedicated pre-training sessions ahead of commencing to ensure you are confident and comfortable with the work. All equipment is provided; just bring your amazing self!
You must be available to start early from our Richmond office and some evening or weekend work may be required.

About You
Our ideal candidate and successful applicant will possess the following:
- Qualifications or relevant experience in the photographic industry
- Upbeat and friendly demeanor
- Ability to work under pressure and without supervision
- Enjoy working with children of all ages
- Ability to follow instructions, demonstrate an eye for detail and have excellent communication skills
- Must be punctual, neatly presented and able to lift at least 10KG
- Mature minded
- Motivated
- Leadership skills
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Ability to find solutions to problems
- All applicants must have a current driver’s licence and reliable vehicle to be considered
- All applicants must have, or be able to obtain, a Working with Children Check
- Previous studio photographic and or Class Group experience will be advantageous but is not essential
