The Ultimo Hotel is currently seeking a Casual Handy Person to join our dynamic team of Hospitality professionals.
You will be joining this stylish hotel, offering 95 unique, modern rooms, perfectly located in the midst of the inner city buzz.
About the role
The Hotel Handyperson is a key role within the Hotel’s Facilities team which is tasked with the overall care and maintenance of the hotel, ensuring compliance, security, safety and general functionality of all aspects of the building and its operations.
Responsibilities:
- Follow work instructions given by the Maintenance Manager.
- Show adaptability for changing work schedules as per hotel's operational needs.
- Swiftly respond to calls for help and provide clear communication on actions taken.
- Maintain personal grooming in line with hotel standards.
- Promote a harmonious work environment with colleagues.
- Uphold cleanliness and safety in the workspace.
- Adhere to hotel's operational policies and procedures.
- Implement hotel's occupational health and safety guidelines.
- Work 2-4 days a week.
- Carry out hands-on repairs and maintenance activities.
- Provide painting services as required.
- Respond promptly to staff/guest repair requests or other needs.
- Monitor hotel's mechanical and electrical equipment, performing necessary maintenance and repairs.
- Ensure a consistently safe environment, free from hazards, in compliance with WH&S policies.
- Conduct preventive maintenance programs.
- Perform general cleaning tasks, such as window cleaning and power washing.

Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in a handyperson or similar facilities management roles
- Demonstrated experience providing painting services
- Completion of trade or facilities management qualifications desired but not essential
- Delivering high quality workmanship
- Ability to prioritise tasks to manage time effectively
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Good communication skills and exceptional customer service
- A high level of personal presentation
- Sound understanding of Workplace Health & Safety procedures
- Flexibility to work to a 7-day rotating roster
