Form of workCome join us at our Russell Falls hatchery is currently recruiting temporary, casual Hatchery Attendants for our spawning season. This is an exciting time of the year for salmon production that will enable you to see our salmon at the start of their lifecycle. This position will be commencing from Wednesday 1st May 2024 for a period of approximately 4 weeks.
What does your week look like?
As a casual spawn helper, you will assist in several different jobs around the hatchery. Depending on shift and how fish are maturing, you may be working with our outdoor crew (roughly 8am-4pm) or working within the hatchery (roughly 10am – 7pm).
Wet weather gear and boots are provided when working outdoors and you will be handling, bleeding, and moving fish up to 15kg in weight. While inside, you will help to bag and fertilise salmon eggs. If you love working outdoors with fish, you will enjoy this experience!

Please note to be successful, you must be able to provide proof that you have the right to work in Australia (birth certificate/passport) and be willing to complete a pre-employment medical assessment and drug test.
