You will be working for a University hospital providing services to over 500,000 employing over 8,500 staff and more than 1,200 volunteers. Health services cover the full spectrum from emergency and acute to mental health, primary care, community services, aged care and subacute/rehabilitation, with all the major specialties represented apart from Transplant medicine and acute Neurosurgery.The Emergency Department treats close to 80,000 patients per year with 30% paediatric presentations. Construction of a new purpose built Paediatric ED is underway and will be opening this year. - You will be working in an ACEM accredited emergency department (Tier 1 - 36 months ED) joining a supportive team of 32 FTE Emergency Medicine Registrars
- Non-ED and Critical Care rotations available as follows: Anaesthetics, ICU, General Medicine, Paediatrics (ward), O+G
- As a trainee, you'll be exposed to the full range of complex, high acuity presentations, including major trauma, paeds, and an interesting variety of land-based and marine toxinology.
- The variety and acuity of conditions treated makes for a stimulating work environment while the geographic location results in high exposure to trauma cases, marine and land based toxinology and medical outreach to more peripheral centres.
