A great opportunity for a Grade 1/2 Physiotherapist to join our Physiotherapy team at Alfred Health, as a casual staff member.

  • Casual weekday and weekend hours
  • A variety of work areas including opportunities in acute inpatient care at Alfred and Sandringham Hospitals, and subacute slow and fast rehabilitation at Caulfield Hospital
  • Grade 1/2 Physiotherapist Classification (VA2 - VA7, VB1 - VB4)
  • Alfred, Sandringham and/or Caulfield Hospitals

The Department

Alfred Health’s Physiotherapy Department provides acute physiotherapy services to the patients of The Alfred and Sandringham Hospital and subacute physiotherapy services to Caulfield Hospital.  

The acute physiotherapy service is organised into five functional streams, namely: Intensive Care, Musculoskeletal, Respiratory, PAN (Progressive Illness, Aged Care and Neurosciences), and Sandringham.  The first four streams are located at The Alfred site, with the fifth and latter streams based at the Sandringham site. 

The Physiotherapy Service at Caulfield Hospital is organised into five functional streams, namely: Musculoskeletal, Neuro/Spinal Rehab, Health of Older Person (HOP) and Acquired Brain Injury. The Physiotherapy service includes to inpatients on site, amputee outpatients, pulmonary rehab and 'Better at Home' (inpatient bed substitution program in patients' own homes).

The Position Summary

The Grade 1/2Casual Physiotherapist is responsible for the ongoing development and provision of physiotherapy services to the designated clinical areas at the level of a developing expert. The areas of work will be in an area of specialty based on the skills of the successful candidate - acute inpatient areas across the Alfred and/or Sandringham hospitals, and subacute fast and slow rehabilitation at Caulfield Hospital.

The Physiotherapist (Casual) has an important role in contributing to the development of individuals on weekdays +/- weekends, the clinical team and the physiotherapy service through good leadership, teamwork and communication.

Skills/Qualifications Required 

  • Physiotherapists registered to practice in the state of Victoria (via AHPRA)
  • Experience in public hospital acute and/or subacute settings of care
