About the Department
The CGH Allied Health Department consists of around 60 professionals in Physiotherapy/Exercise Physiology, Dietetics, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Podiatry, and Social Work. Last year, we provided therapy to over 6,500 clients in community and outpatient settings and received an average of 500 referrals across Allied Health disciplines per month.
About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated New Graduate or Pending New Graduate Physiotherapist to join our team at Central Gippsland Health (CGH). This position offers the opportunity to gain experience across a broad spectrum of Public Health services, providing a mixed caseload across hospital, community, outpatient, and aged care settings in a vibrant rural health environment. Opportunities to specialize in areas such as Paediatrics, Hand Therapy, and Women’s Health are supported by experienced specialist physiotherapists within the team.
You will manage a rotating caseload as part of a large team of 23 staff, including Grade 1 therapists, Grade 2 therapists, a Grade 3 therapist, Exercise Physiologists, Allied Health Assistants, and a Department Head. Our Physiotherapy department offers over 20 community-based rehabilitation groups in addition to acute and outpatient services. The acute caseload includes working in the Critical Care Unit, Short Stay, Emergency Department, Medical and Surgical wards, Women’s Health, and Paediatrics. The community caseload covers both group and individual-based rehabilitation, outreach in Loch Sport, Maffra, and Rosedale, and home-based therapy. CGH provides acute orthopaedics, including total hip and knee replacements on site, and services four aged care sites in the area.

- Manage a clinical caseload alongside your peers
- Assist in team development by participating in internal in-services and quality projects
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Degree in Physiotherapy
- Current AHPRA registration
