Your Opportunity

As the Kitchen Steward you will:

  • Work with the team to ensure that cleanliness and hygiene standards are maintained at all times in thekeeping the kitchen(s) clean, tidy and in line with food safety standards.
  • Prior experience as a kitchen steward/ kitchen hand and a good understanding of food safety standards isrequired.
  • Must be available to work a variety of shifts including nights, weekends and Public Holidays.

The position reports to the Executive Chef, TAFE Queensland Gold Coast.

This is a Casual opportunity with the possibility of progressing to contract in the furture.

The position will be based primarily at Robina Campus however you may be required to perform work at other TAFE Queensland campuses.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Washing crockery, cutlery and glassware using commercial dishwashers
  • Washing cooking equipment and tools
  • Completing daily cleaning of the kitchens
  • Rubbish removal
  • Model and actively promote an ethical and safe work environment that supports a culture of zero harm and bestpractice regarding health, safety, wellness and sustainability.

Highly Desirable Requirements

  • Previous experience in a similar position 
  • Understanding of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and the ability to adapt sustainable practicesinto all aspects of the role and service delivery.
