Category Advisor

Category Advisor - Mining Client - Based South of the River Leading Mining Client has a requirement for a Category Advisor to join their operations South of the River. They are going from construction into operations, so this is a fantastic time to be there right at the start of this exciting time. Key duties would include:
Tendering, negotiation & implementation of contracts
Application of sound commercial judgement around the application of contractual terms and conditions
Provide commercial and contractual support to the business and effectively deliver value for the nominated categories through competitive sourcing and contract management
Foster strong working relationships with key stakeholders to become a highly valued contract expert, trusted with commercial support, to lead negotiations with vendors and provide ongoing contract management up to and including close out
Manage Supplier Relationship Management while working collaboratively with projects and cross-functional stakeholders
Contract life-cycle support for all contractual and commercial activities and develop well-defined category and sourcing strategies
Actively participate and drive the business operating model within the team.
Qualifications and Skills required:
Previous experience on contracts administration or procurement (resources experience is not essential as the client is happy to look at candidates from other industries)
Some skills in analysing tender submissions and making recommendations for award
Ability to develop good working relationships with team members and external parties, coupled with strong influencing skills to manage multiple work packages and interface with internal stakeholders
Ability to influence with credibility, able to encourage buy-in and commitment at all levels
Strong written skills (e.g., drafting concise award recommendations, drafting contract conditions, drafting contract correspondence and variations)
Exceptional computer literacy with the ability to use multiple systems
This role is based South of the River with free parking. Training is on offer to more junior candidates looking to make the change into a Category role.
