The Opportunity:
Global Spend Management (GSM) is a shared service function that helps Aon manage spend. We assist colleagues to make purchases in an efficient and strategic way, helping Aon gain the highest quality with the lowest risk, at the lowest cost. GSM reaches all colleagues in our firm and impacts multiple facets of our day-to-day business activities.
The Procurement Specialist is primarily responsible for leading and executing strategic sourcing strategies within Aon. In the role, you will lead the construction and execution of strategic sourcing initiatives for key commodities spends in the categories that you are assigned to.
Key responsibilities will include:
  • Sourcing and vendor management for APAC based in Australia
  • Identifying problems and resolving solutions with existing vendors and contracts
  • Identifying and settling costs associated with the Products purchased
  • Assisting with the implementation of Products sourcing management strategies and driving strategic sourcing initiatives related to specific Products
  • Maintaining knowledge of market trends, market conditions and recommending changes in strategic sourcing strategies
  • Performing basic project management
  • Performing opportunity analysis to identify projects that will deliver significant cost savings and value improvement
  • Analysing business processes and resolving opportunities achieved through influencing supply and demand of services
  • Interpreting and communicate legal terms/issues to assist business in understanding and mitigating risk
  • Developing commodity specific RFXs and engage in RFX analysis.
  • Coordinating negotiation strategies and maintains contact with key supplier partners at all times
  • Driving negotiations with suppliers
  • Supervising supplier performance
About you:
This role will suit someone who works well under pressure, is a self-starter and is highly client service focused.
You will also possess the following attributes:
  • Phenomenal attention to detail and be able to multitask whilst maintaining a first class client focus.
  • Experience in sourcing, contract development and negotiation, and supplier management for large spend categories will be highly regarded
  • Experience across IT, HR, and Professions sectors
  • Process driven
  • Stakeholder engagement, understanding the needs and connecting dots
  • Drive solutions
  • Some flexibility to suit the different time zones you will be servicing across the region.
