The role
We are seeking a highly analytical and results-driven Category Insights specialist to play a vital role in supporting our product, trade-planning, and category data streams. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and delivering Category Insights and reporting, ultimately driving better outcomes for our categories, stores, customers, and business. You will leverage your strong insights and analytical skills and passion for data-driven decision making to identify trends, provide insights, and help shape the future of 7-Eleven's product strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support our product and category teams with strategic insights, reporting, and analysis ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and usability across the business.
- Lead our test and learn agenda within the category teams supporting initiative across pricing, promotional effectiveness, range, NPD and supplier related activities.
- Maintain a regular insights generation and reporting cadence for our trade-planning teams, providing timely and actionable insights to relevant stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement data-driven product and category strategies to drive growth and profitability.
- Assist in the development and refinement of Category Insights, customer profiling, and store clustering methodologies.
- Support ad hoc analysis and reporting requests, as needed.
- Be the point of contact with our data agency, working with them to refine reporting and analysis capabilities, drive commercialisation and foster continuous improvement.
About you
- Extensive experience in customer insights with specific experience in category and commercial analysis, within a retail or FMCG organisation or agency side supporting these types of organisations
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to analse complex data sets and draw meaningful and actionable retail and Category Insights.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, Q, SPSS, etc..)
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is preferred.
- Knowledge of SQL and/or other data query languages is a plus.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Passion for retail and a deep understanding of customer needs and preferences.
