What you'll be doingAs a pivotal senior member of the Freedom Furniture Dropship team, the
Category Manager assumes the critical responsibility of overseeing vendors and products within the Furniture Category. The key responsibilities of the role include:
- Develop and execute a strategic plan for the Dropship Furniture category, aligning with company objectives and market trends to drive growth and profitability.
- Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with dropship furniture suppliers and vendors to ensure a diverse and high-quality assortment of products at competitive prices.
- Curate and optimise the product assortment within the Dropship Furniture category, considering Freedom brand values, customer preferences, market trends.
- Ensure competitive pricing by closely monitoring wholesale pricing from vendors, aiming to enhance profitability. Simultaneously, foster vendor engagement in promotional events to boost both sales and margins, all while maintaining competitiveness in the market.
- Collaborate closely with suppliers and internal teams to efficiently manage inventory levels, including pre-order products, with the aim of minimizing instances of being 'out of stock' while maximising inventory turnover.
Who you are- A minimum 5+ category management eCommerce or buying, preferably in the furniture/homewares industry.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and insights to drive strategic decisions.
- Demonstrated experience in supplier management and contract negotiation.
- Proven track record of driving sales and profitability within a category.
- Leadership experience with a focus on team development and collaboration.
- Digital software experience with CRM, Marketplace or task management tools particularly SAP, Monday.com, Mirakl highly desirable.
