About the Role
Primo Foods are seeking a Category Manager - Snacking to join the team on a permanent full-time basis in Chullora. Reporting to the Category Director, this role will guide the category strategy for our Snacking ranges, working with sales and marketing teams to drive reviews across all channels. This role will take ownership of the NPD forecast and track new product launches for success. Responsibilities will also include analysing the ranging, space and pricing strategies for NPD in the breakthrough space.
Responsibilities include:
- Become the go-to expert for Retailers to grow the category
- Ensure category growth and objectivity are at the heart of all interactions with the customer
- Develop and evolve Ranging and Space management strategies for Primo in the assigned portfolio
- Develop and present retailer category reviews
- Develop retailer selling stories for core and future NPD
- Manages the setting of initial volumes and assumptions of NPD and monitors its implementation through the stage gate process (SGP) and in-market execution.
- Evaluates the effectiveness and efficiency of pricing and promotion activities and provides recommendations.
- Be a partner to customer and marketing teams by providing category and shopper insights that helps shape strategies & tactics
- Lead the development and delivery of annual category plans for customer across branded portfolio
- Identify & clearly define key category and customer opportunities, generating the insight needed to resolve and activate
- Internal champion for sales performance for assigned category/channel and develops recommendations for corrective action
About you:
- 5-7 years’ experience in FMCG Category Management or Sales
- Ability to combine strong strategic thinking and analytical ability, turning data into insight and action
- Problem solving ability & commercial nous - capable of understanding the impact of decision making on the business
- Understanding of retail partners and their KPIs
- Ability to build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships to deliver outcomes
- Demonstrated experience using syndicated data via IRI or Nielsen and Quantium
- Strong internal rhythm to deliver projects with urgency – ASAP approach versus ‘just in time’
