The Procurement Category Manager is a strategic role within our organisation, responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships and stakeholders, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services.
This position requires a strong understanding of procurement best practices, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to build collaborative partnerships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
The Procurement Category Manager will play a critical role in driving operational efficiency, cost savings, and overall business success. This position is to be based in either our Head Office, on Hobart’s waterfront, or our new office in Sydney Olympic Park.
What does your work week look like?
- Analysing situations and identifying what and where the value sits
- Forming productive internal and external relationships
- Delivery of end-to-end procurement activities
- Preparing and executing complex commercial negotiations
- Mastering data and crunching numbers to identify spending trends and opportunities
- Contribute to strategy and framework development
About you:
- Extensive experience in undertaking procurement activities, ideally across a diverse range of categories
- Able to facilitate meetings, drive agenda and present in a professional manner
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline(s) such as business, supply chain or finance would be well regarded, but not essential
- Ability to build and maintain strong supplier relationships
- Exceptional communication and time management skills
