About the role The Category Procurement Specialist will be accountable in assisting in all procurement activities with the operations and commercial team. In this role you will be working within a diverse team but will be reporting to the Category Manager and the Portfolio Category Manager. This role will have a lot of client relationship responsibility and will lead many peer level relationships. You will need to be able to manage both internal and external stakeholders whilst maintaining strategic procurement needs.
Responsibilities include As a Category Procurement Specialist, in the operations and commercial team, you will be responsible for;
Designing and driving procurement projects
Take responsibility for sourcing activities within the category ; see them through from inception to contract execution
Vendor management and reporting
Liaise and work with both internal and external stakeholders; all the way up to a C Suite level
Skills and Experience
A minimum 3 years strategic sourcing, category management and procurement
Lead and/ or supported ongoing commercial relationships for a large business including sourcing for suppliers
Supplier negotiations, contract reviews and extensions experience including influencing skills
Commercial awareness - Be able to question whether a decision impacts the business commercially and how it impacts the overall strategy of the organisation
Able to influence stakeholders/ negotiate and lead commercial outcomes
Excellent interpersonal skills
