Catering Assistant

As a Catering Assistant, reporting to the Head Production Chef, you will assist in the smooth and efficient operation of the Production and Distribution areas of the Catering Services Centre through performing the full range of tasks associated with food preparation.
This role is based at our catering facility in Unanderra and is a family friendly position that doesn't require evenings or weekends. It is part time, working Monday to Friday 21 hours per week.
Your work may include:
• Responsible for the preparation of high quality foods;
• Cooking; chilling; batch assembly; labelling; storage and stock rotation
• Complying with the HACCP food guidelines
• A range of cleaning duties of the general work area and commercial equipment
• Adhering to safety and hygiene systems

To be successful you will have:
• Demonstrated experience working with commercial cooking equipment
• Sound level verbal and written communication skills
• Sound organisational skills
• Proven attention to detail and accuracy
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Ability to plan and prioritise own work to meet deadlines
• A genuine interest in Catering and/or Aged Care
• Desirable: Experience in picking & packing orders and assembly of product
• Desirable: Demonstrate a knowledge of HACCP
• Desirable: Demonstrate an awareness of computer systems including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel operating in a Microsoft Windows environment
