Form of workDo you want a high flying career working for the worlds largest air services provider? Come join our busy catering unit at Brisbane Airport. We are looking for a motivated and driven Catering Production Supervisor to join their team on a full-time basis.
What does a typical day look like?
The primary responsibility of this role is to oversee and manage all PM shift catering assembly and packing operations within their designated area of control.
In a nutshell, your main responsibilities are:
- Accountable for minimizing wastages by monitoring, improving & managing existing procedures.
- Recommend improvements to the relevant Department Manager where necessary.
- Ensure that all flights are meticulously packed according to the specified standards and promptly delivered to the dispatch fridge.
- Provide strategic direction, support, and guidance to a team of Catering Attendants.
- Roster as per the baselines to ensure optimum efficiency.
- Investigate, analyze, suggest, and implement corrective action plans to resolve assembly issues.
- Carry out additional duties as may be reasonably requested by the Executive Chef and/or Senior Management.
- Ensure employees are trained as per the business training matrix and schedule.
- Lead and participate in dnata safety programs, including toolboxes talks, safety stand downs, safety meetings and other safety initiatives.
What do you need to be successful in securing this role?
- Demonstrated success in a similar role.
- Strong resource planning skills with a demonstrated ability to create effective & efficient rosters for a large team.
- Previous experience with LEAN or SIX SIGMA project management would be an advantage.
- Previous experience managing more than 30 frontline staff.
- Excellent leadership skills and experience in managing a diverse group of employees.
- A strong commitment to food safety and compliance.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Previous experience in a commercial kitchen environment preferred but not essential.
- As you will be working in the Aviation Services industry, you will be required to obtain a clear National Police Check.
