We are passionate about aged care and are accepting applications for a Catering Services Manager/Head Chef for our residential facility Advantaged Care - Barden Lodge located at Barden Ridge (Sutherland Area).
ABOUT THE ROLE
As the Head Chef within Advantaged Care at Barden Lodge you will be accountable to the Executive Manager for the day-to-day management of the kitchen. As part of the management team you are accountable for menu development, stock control and the overall preparation and serving of nutritious and attractive meals for our residents.
The Successful candidate will hold:
- Certificate IV in commercial cookery or equivalent qualification
- Current knowledge of Food Safety, HACCP and hygiene standards, and State & Commonwealth regulatory requirements
- Experience in commercial cooking environment and/or aged care catering
- Excellent Communication and Documentation Skills
- Knowledge of dietary nutrition needs for the aged
- Previous experience in supervising and coordinating staff
- Basic to intermediate computer proficiency, or the willingness and ability to develop computer skills to operate electronic documentation software
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all aged care stakeholders
- Show leadership, maturity, initiative, the ability to work in a team, prioritise work and display effective time management
- Ability to manage bulk ordering, purchasing, and stock control of food
- Understanding and commitment to continuous quality improvements, ongoing professional development and the ability to manage change processes
- A strong passion for quality in aged care
