RSPCA Victoria, Victoria's leading animal welfare organization, seeks a compassionate and dedicated Animal Attendant to join our Cattery team at our Burwood East site.
In this rewarding role, you'll play a vital role in caring for animals across our shelters, contributing to their positive well-being and future happiness.
In this rewarding role, you will enrich the lives of our furry feline residents, as well as:
- Contribute to the daily management of cats across all parts of the cattery in a professional and caring manner.
- Observe, document and report health and behaviour concerns of cats in our care and support Veterinarians when required.
- Provide a high level of service to customers in the adoption, surrender and reclaiming of animals to enhance the reputation of RSPCA Victoria within the local community.
- Ensure all necessary documentation relating to the management of cats are recorded accurately and in accordance with RSPCA Victoria procedures and timeframes.
- Contribute to a positive and inclusive work environment by effectively communicating and working collaboratively with peers across all departments.
We're looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience in an animal care role (specifically cats) including basic knowledge of animal anatomy, behaviour, disease recognition and safe handling.
- The ability to work in a fast paced and challenging work environment, whilst showing great care and compassion to the cats in our shelter.
- Demonstrated experience working collaboratively in a team environment.
- The ability to work rotating rosters including weekends and public holidays.
Recruitment Requirements:
- Hold a Certificate II in Animal Studies (or equivalent)
- Current and valid driver’s license is preferred (however not essential)
- Current tetanus vaccination
