• Salary : $82,045 plus superannuation and salary packaging options

The VACCA team is committed to the organisation's visions and values, passionately providing support, service and advocacy for our children and other vulnerable members of the community.Our strength lies with our people.About the roleThe Community Connector - Cultural Support will sit in the Out of Home Care team and will have the main focus of promoting culture and importance of self-determination to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people. This role will support will also work closely with VACCA West Cultural Services team to develop and deliver cultural events throughout the year in line with significant date on the VACCA community events calendar.About You

• Demonstrated commitment and understanding for the values that underpin VACCA' vision and purpose
• Awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal societies and cultures, along with awareness of the key issues which impact upon Aboriginal communities, and commitment to continually build knowledge in this area
• Demonstrated experience in working and engaging with Aboriginal families and children.
• Growing knowledge and/or lived experience of Child Protection and out of home care system.
• Knowledge of the issues faced by children and young people in care/ leaving care.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a culturally respectful and competent manner, with young people, their families and communities, to ensure that cultural connections are fostered and maintained.
• Requirements: a full Victorian Driver's Licence, a current employment Working With Children Check card and a clear National Police Check and a current COVID-19 vaccination (including booster dose, as applicable).
