Central Coast Local Health District has a rare leadership opportunity available for a Nurse Unit Manager (NUM), who can have a wider impact in the community and to take their skills outside a ward, and into the greater Central Coast area.
The NUM takes overall responsibility for the health care environment and standard of client care. As the registered nurse in charge of the service, the NUM performs as a clinical leader and manager with accountability for  culture, quality and safety,  client flow, financial management, change management and the client experience of  throughout the nursing service.

A successful candidate will demonstrate a high level of emotional intelligence, as they will be working directly with Children and Families within our community who are as diverse and varied as our beautiful district. Candidates who exhibit calm and consistent leadership, high levels of communication, adaptability and above all compassionate care will excel and thrive as a Nurse Unit manager.  

This is a special opportunity for someone who is looking to take on a dynamic and active leadership position in a team that has a direct and wide spread impact on some of the most vulnerable people within our community, and implement some exciting changes.

About You 

  • You have a current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse (Division 1).
  • You will have strong interpersonal skills.
  • You have extensive recent post registration clinical experience and or qualifications in Child & Family Health, or equivalent, and knowledge of current nursing & Midwifery issues.                
  • You have proven leadership and management skills and demonstrated ability to lead manage and support a clinical team.
  • You have a current Australian Drivers' Licence.

Where you’ll be working 

This role will primarily be based out of the Gosford Gateway Centre and will have the successful candidate working between eight unique community Child and Family health centres across the Central Coast. The Child and Family Health Team is one of the furthest reaching and most community engaged teams in the Central Coast Local Health district and provides industry leading care to the children and families of our wonderful community.  

Spread across eight community centres and centralised around the Gosford Gateway centre, this is a rare opportunity to lead a team and be out and active in the community.
