Job description

The Post Placement Officer is a critical component within our service commitment and ensures that Jobseekers are retained and supported in employment.

The Post Placement Officer will work closely with both the Jobseeker and Employer to identify and resolve any barriers that may impact ongoing employment. The Post Placement Officer will work closely with the Jobseeker, CDP Support Officers and Administration Coordinator to effectively present a Post Placement support program which may include the identification of training requirements, immediate support services and / or counselling that may assist in ensuring the job seeker is retained in the job long term.

Remuneration package:

Employment Type: Full Time

Salary Range: $77,344.14 per annum (pro-rata)

Entitlements/Benefits: 6 Weeks Annual Leave + 2 Weeks Sick Leave + 2 Weeks Ancillary Leave + 1 RDO per Month

Location: Kalano’s CDP Administration Office – 2/3 First Street, Katherine NT

Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week – 7.5 hours per day [Monday to Friday | 08:00am – 4:30pm]

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop constructive relationships with Jobseekers, Employers and CDP Supports Officers to ensure that clear accountability and communication are established to support the employment outcomes for Jobseekers.

• Identify and outline PPS contact plan for both Jobseeker and Employer within 2 weeks of gaining employment and this regime is to be followed for the 26-week outcome period of employment.

• Maintain regular contact (at least once per fortnight) with both Jobseekers and Employers to identify any potential challenges, barriers and/or training to be actioned/addressed. Frequency of contact will fluctuate during the support period and when unable to contact via email or phone, visit the workplace face to face to re-engage them in a timely manner.

• Act as a liaison between Jobseekers and Employers where required and work to support both the Jobseeker and Employer where there is a risk of a Jobseeker losing their employment.

• Maintain unparalleled knowledge of job opportunities in the local employer market, as well as training opportunities and/or courses to increase success of Jobseeker work placements.

• Meet regularly face to face with current and potential employers in the local area to identify their labor needs and market Jobseekers, as well as outline benefits of Jobseeker employment. This will include spending one day a week on the road completing workplace visits.

• Work closely with Administration Co-Ordinator to ensure that all job placements are entered correctly, and Post Placement claims are lodged in a timely manner, and with correct evidence lodged and attached.

• Always maintain a high level of both CDP contractual and operational knowledge (Head Agreement with PM&C, NIAA Obligations).

• Ensure all relevant information is recorded accurately and entered PPS spreadsheet and ECSN Comments in a timely manner.

• Ensure data entries are accurate and up to date.

• Regularly seek opportunities for learning and improvement, as well as generating innovative ideas or solutions

• Any other duties as directed by the CDP Administration Coordinator or Management.

Essential Competencies (knowledge, skills and attributes):

• Business Administration Certificate or similar.

• Competent use of computer software packages such as word, excel, email and SharePoint

• Ability to work in a team and to act proactively, independently and creatively to overcome challenges as needed

• Cross cultural awareness and effective communication skills (both Oral and Written)

• Working knowledge of EEO principles and practices

• Working knowledge of WHS principles and practices

• Understanding of CDP guidelines, policies and procedures

• Demonstrate a willingness to take action to support a Jobseeker or Employer and show initiative without being asked or directed by others

• Valid NT Drivers Licence, Valid Ochre Card and National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
