AddressKidcademy Early Learning Bribie Island is currently seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Cook to join our team on a Part-Time Basis. We are looking for an individual who is driven and excited about a long term career within the industry.
We value the importance of children's health and nutrition and are looking for a cook with the same values and who enjoys cooking with the children and who can share their knowledge of nutrition to the children.
Experience cooking in a long day care kitchen is preferred. Additionally, you must hold a current WWCC and a Food Safety Supervisor Certificate or willing to obtain.
You will be required to plan and display, in consultation with the Service Manager, a menu for all children which is nutritional, well balanced, suited to the dietary needs of the children, reflecting a variety of cultural backgrounds and is reflective of our policy on health and nutrition.
Job tasks and responsibilities
- Prepare and cook all meals fresh daily
- Support the Services' nutritional and kitchen hygiene policies.
- Interact with children, educators and families in a positive, sensitive and respectful manner
- Order, plan and prepare nutritional and wholesome food for children by following the Service menu plan and keeping within budget.
- You will maintain an organised safe, clean and hygienic environment at all times.
- Adapt planned menus to cater for children with allergies, ensuring utmost care not to cross contaminate with high risk foods.
- Be organised and manage time effectively
