This is an entry-level role!
DUTIES WILL INCLUDE
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including chopping, slicing, and measuring, according to recipes and portion sizes.
- Learn various cooking techniques such as grilling, frying, baking, sautéing, and boiling under the supervision of experienced chefs.
- Contribute ideas and suggestions for menu items and assist in the development and creation of new dishes.
- Learn how to plate dishes attractively, ensuring that each plate meets aesthetic standards and reflects the restaurant's style and brand.
- Assist in inventory management, including stock rotation, ordering supplies, and monitoring food wastage to minimise costs and maintain quality.
- Work closely with other members of the kitchen team to ensure smooth operation during service times, communicating effectively and assisting as needed.

APPRENTICESHIP INFORMATION
During the duration of the apprenticeship (48-months) you will be working full-time (38 hours per week), learning all the skills of the trade within the working environment.
You and will attend TAFE one day per week for three years, where you will learn theory and practical areas within the trade to gain a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery and be a qualified tradesperson at the completion of your apprenticeship.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- Must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or New Zealand Citizen
- Not have any previous qualifications exceeding a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
