The opportunity
The Boeing CH-47F Chinook is an advanced, medium-lift, multi-mission helicopter. It has a unique twin-rotor design and advanced cargo-handling capabilities which complements its primary mission - supporting the Army to transport troops, artillery guns, ammunition, fuel and other supplies.
We are seeking an Aerospace Engineer to join our CH-47F Chinook technical support services team. As a key member of our Capability, you will support the CH-47F engineering in-service program essential in ensuring continuing airworthiness of the aircraft.
The role is based at the Army Aviation Centre Oakey, Queensland, with occasional requirements of travel to Brisbane, QLD.
As anAerospace Engineer you will:
- Perform defect and incident investigation, reporting, direct and root cause identification and provide recommended corrective actions.
- Liaise with the customer and maintenance organisation regarding technical issues.
- Evaluate technical documents and assist in the preparation technical instructions and orders.
- Develop, submit and liaise with Boeing Philadelphia Service Engineering regarding technical requests, as required to support defect investigation and corrective action development.
- Liaise with the Customer to coordinate approval and implementation of corrective actions.
- Contribute to the development of engineering designs and modifications to the CH-47F aircraft.
- Execute a reliability management process to monitor aircraft and critical systems defects and incidents.
- Prepare reliability reports and briefs and draft technical instructions and orders.
To be considered for the role you will have:
- Bachelor of Engineering in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics or Avionics. (Member of the Institution of Engineers Australia, desirable).
- Knowledge and experience in system safety and risk management
- Understanding of configuration management principles
- Prior aviation engineering experience under the DASR or equivalent civil aviation regulations
- Experience in aircraft sustainment engineering and technical support
- Strong ability to work in a team environment.
- A high level of verbal and written communication skills.
