About the operation
Northparkes will celebrate 30 years of operations in 2024 and is known for innovative technology and committed people. Northparkes uses multiple mining methods including open pit, sub-level caving and was the first mine in Australia to use the block cave mining method. Northparkes is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace with a long mine life and a vision of a century of mining together.
About the role
Reporting to the Development Supervisor, as a Charge Up Operator you will be responsible for the safe charging of development headings. This involves handling explosives and operating the Normet Charmec to complete all aspects of development charging. Other responsibilities include:
- Conducting thorough pre-start equipment checks
- Maintaining high standards of work and housekeeping
- Assisting with general maintenance tasks related to your equipment as well as performing acting duties of other roles (service crew, Bogger Operations, underground dump truck etc) when required.
- This role is offered on a lifestyle friendly 7/7 roster, living residential.

- You will be eligible for our quarterly bonus scheme, as well as future opportunities to work interstate or overseas.
About You
As a successful candidate you will have:
- Previous experience in underground Charge Up and bogging
- A current explosives security clearance
- Proficiency operating Normet Charmec with Emulsion.
- A current C Class Driver's License and be certified in Working at Heights.
- Hold a Blasting Explosives Users Licence BEUL (essential)
