We have various exciting opportunities for Chefs and Cooks to join our Hospitality teams in the South West region. We currently have the following positions available:
Bethanie Fields (160-bed) aged care home located in Eaton has a Casual opportunity. The shift times are 9:00am-5:00pm, working a variety of shifts Monday to Sunday - including public holidays.
Bethanie Elanora (81-bed) aged care home located in Bunbury has a fixed term opportunity working until the end of June 2024. This position offers a nine-day fortnight working 9:00am – 5:00pm, with Wednesdays being 7:00am – 3:00pm to allow for a delicious cooked breakfast for our residents.
• Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday• Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday
Due to the varying personal requirements of our residents at Bethanie Elanora, the successful applicant for this role will have demonstrated experience working in aged care or with texture modified diets.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage the preparation and Cooking of meals on site• Produce well-presented nutritious meals using fresh ingredients where possible• Assist in the menu development where practicable• Adhere to the approved cycle menu on site• Manage portion control and wastage on site• Ensure all dietary requirements for residents are met• Direct and train staff on appropriate food presentation and preparation techniques• Comply with Food safety programme and procedures as outlined in the Hospitality manual• Comply with any relevant legislation covering food safety ie. Food Act and Food Standards Code
Requirements • Previous experience as a Cook/Chef catering for up to 100 people• Minimum requirement of a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or similar• Ability to work with hospitality staff to get food out on time• Excellent time management skills• Excellent working knowledge of the Food Act and Food Standards code• Willingness to uphold the Mission, Vision and Values of The Bethanie Group Inc.• Current NDIS Clearance or the willingness to receive one• Willingness to receive relevant vaccinations
