We are seeking a dynamic cook with a proven track record in the South Indian cuisine to work with us full time (38 hours) in an exciting fulltime role in our restaurant. Skills And Experience
• At least two to 3-4 years experience as a cook/chef in a fast-paced environment;
• Knowledge about South Indian regional cuisines Chettinad, Malabar, and Kongunad;
• Certificate 3 / 4 in Asian Cookery (or equivalent or higher trade qualifications)
• Experience in regional meat cooking skills along with those spices like chargrilled and barbeque;
• Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to cultivate strong relationships in a team-based environment.
• Ability to plan menus for different cultural/dietary requirements
• Experience in pans & grills and South Indian street food;
• Ability to create authentic spice mixes and techniques to make a Masalas
• planning and preparing nutritious south Indian meals and food items.
• Prepare meals to meet the needs of customers with special dietary requirements and allergies;
• Order food supplies in consultation with director;
• Ensure safe and hygienic storage, handling and preparation of food and drinks
• Ensuring cooking methods, portions and recipes are followed;
• Able to work under pressure;
• Maintaining a clean and well-presented kitchen compliant with food safety standards;
• Work as part of a team to create a safe and friendly work environment.
We are offering a competitive salary package (60k- 70k + super). Knowledge and experience of creating traditional South Indian cuisines is a MUST.
