The successful candidates must be available to work day and night shifts, as well as weekends, and should have in-depth knowledge in the preparation and cooking of Maharashtrian Cuisine and has at least 2- 3 years of full-time employment experience in a busy similar commercial kitchen operation, and possess qualification which is at least equivalent to an Australian Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or similar.
Candidate must also have good communication skill.
The duties to be carried out by the successful candidate will include:
•Prepare, cook, garnish, and present food for the lunch and dinner services in accordance with the restaurant and HACCP standards.
•Maintaining health and hygiene in the kitchen and maintaining temperature control as required.
•Planning, budgeting, and purchasing materials for food preparation.
•Planning menu, adding, or changing in dishes which are more prevalent.
•Ensuring food items are stored and preserved correctly, stock rotation using FIFO method, receiving deliveries and maintain par levels.
•Using various equipment to prepare food, keeping track of maintenance of major equipment such as refrigerator, freezer, burners, dishwashers, oven and report failure or service to the relevant technician.
•Ensuring safety practices in the kitchen.
•Interviewing, hiring, managing, and training the new kitchen staff.
•Taking orders for various functions and parties.
$60,000 – $70,000 per year
