North Gregory Hotel has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Chef or Cook to join our friendly, easy-going team and make their mark on a historic venue!
Our iconic, up-market restaurant in Winton, Outback Queensland is setting an exciting new standard for classic Australian pub food. We cater to both the tourist and local business population with our 50 seat restaurant, and 200-seat beer garden and relaxed cafe.

About the Role
Bring your creativity and independence to this great opportunity for a high calibre, experienced Chef/Cook who takes pride in their work and is passionate about driving a legendary restaurant forward.
Duties will include:
- Preparing and cooking bistro style meals
- Catering for various functions, events and tours
- Managing, training and mentoring staff
- Maintaining kitchen cleanliness
- Monitoring stock to minimise wastage and costs
About You
You have a great eye for detail, excellent time management skills, and can keep your cool in fast-paced environments. Previous remote area and high volume catering experience will be highly regarded.
You also have:
- Previous experience as a Head Chef/Cook
- The ability to train others
- Food Safety Supervisor certificate (QLD)
- Previous experience cooking with wood-fire oven (not essential but advantageous)
- Demonstrated experience with successfully managing stock, costs, staff and driving revenue (not essential but advantageous)
