Join our team as the Chef de Cuisine of Events at The Star Brisbane.
The Star Brisbane, positioned at the heart of the new Queen’s Wharf Brisbane precinct, will be Australia’s newest entertainment and leisure destination. Commencing a staged opening in 2024, The Star Brisbane will bring a range of unique entertainment options, world class hotels, dining, bars, luxury retail, gaming and a state-of-the-art Event Centre, transforming how people will play, shop and socialise in the river city.
The Chef de Cuisine for Events, reporting to the Executive Sous Chef, will become an important part of our culinary leadership team. This role has ownership in driving the culinary offering throughout not only our 2000 guest ballroom but events activated throughout the entire property. You can expect to be responsible for large Gala dinners, conferences, corporate and bespoke intimate events. This will include event menu design, operational team management whilst keeping the business commercially viable.
A few of your responsibilities
Managing costs across the events space including operational, food and labour while still maintaining quality.
Foster a winning, solution-oriented work environment, motivating and engaging team members to continuously deliver the best possible service to our guests in line with The Star values.
Demonstrate the ability to prepare event-based food items to the highest standards in accordance with menu plans, recipes, and The Star Brisbane's food safety plan while meeting event requirements.

Experience with high-volume and high-end functions and events
About you
You will be able to provide exceptional culinary skills, outstanding communication, and hold the ability to lead a successful kitchen team within the event spaces, while achieving financial targets. As we move to The Star Brisbane you will be critical in leading the team through transition, whilst setting and maintaining the highest service and safety standards.
Within the event spaces you will have demonstrated resource management, cost control, and effective leadership experience in people management coupled with effective communication and influencing skills.
Your role will be pivotal in shaping the success of our event focused food, beverage and events operations at the Star Brisbane.

The $3.6 billion Queen’s Wharf Brisbane development is being delivered by Destination Brisbane Consortium – a joint venture led by The Star Entertainment Group alongside its partners.
When complete, Queen’s Wharf Brisbane will deliver four new luxury hotels, more than 50 new food and beverage experiences, significant luxury retail, the restoration of nine heritage buildings and around 1,500 residential apartments.
