The Hamptons Bakery is a relaxed, comfortable home away from home bayside cafe and bakery, offering house baked breads, pastries and a full a la carte menu for its 80+ seated guests.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a full-time Chef de Partie to join our team. As the Chef de Partie, you will play a crucial role in our kitchen operations, working closely with our Head Chef and Sous Chefs to deliver exquisite dishes that exceed our guests' expectations.
Responsibilities will include:
- Station Management: Overseeing and managing a specific section of the kitchen, ensuring all dishes are prepared to the highest standards and in accordance with our recipes and plating guidelines.
- Food Preparation: Preparing ingredients, cooking, and assembling dishes according to established recipes and specifications while maintaining consistency and quality.
- Team Collaboration: Working collaboratively with other members of the kitchen team to ensure smooth service and timely delivery of dishes.
- Quality Control: Monitoring food quality and presentation at your station, addressing any issues promptly to maintain our standards of excellence.
- Kitchen Organisation: Maintaining a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
- Training and Development: Assisting in the training and development of junior kitchen staff, sharing knowledge and best practices to foster growth within the team.
- Food Safety & Hygiene: Ensuring the correct following of all food safety protocols and practices.
About You
You will have at least 2+ years’ experience as a Chef de Partie in a fast-paced environment with a commitment to delivering exceptional service and standards.
In addition you will:
- A minimum of Cert III in Commercial Cookery or relevant qualifications.
- Solid understanding of culinary techniques, cooking methods, and food safety standards.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
- Practice exceptional Food Safety and OH&S standards and compliance.
- Have impeccable time management.
- Be calm and work well under pressure.
