About the Role
Located at GMHBA Stadium, we have a number of exciting openings for casual Chefs and Cooks to join the Higher Mark team across the business. You will have the opportunity to work all AFL Match Days at GMHBA Stadium as well as the many first class conference and events held throughout the week. Suitable for candidates who have a fulltime/part time role and are looking for additional hours and/or casuals who are also looking to increase their hours. We offer great flexibility for our staff and are happy to work with you and your availability.
Responsibilities and duties:
- Ensure professional, efficient service and flawless delivery of client’s requirements “on the day” with a view to exceed their expectations and enhance the customer experience
- Assist Sous Chef to deliver exceptional food service to customers
- Ensure that all food items are prepared, cooked and presented as outlined and specified on menus
- Monitor portion size and food quality and inspect methods of preparation
- Ensure that all Occupational Health and Safety requirements for the Club are met within your department. Report any workplace hazards as you see them and support the Club in its endeavour to provide a safe workplace
- Represent the Club in a positive manner demonstrating the clubs guiding principles, ethics and pride at all times
Skills and attributes
- Display a passion for the food and hospitality offering at the Geelong Cats
- Use previous experience in the successful execution of food items
- Demonstrate great attention to detail and a flexible approach to work
- Use your ability to prioritise tasks and the tasks of your team in order to meet deadlines by utilising excellent time management and organisational skills
- Strong ability to solve problems and offer solutions
What are we looking for?
- Previous experience working in a function kitchen or restaurant
- Excellent communication skills and ability to follow instructions
- Eager to learn and able to work under pressure
- Takes pride in a clean work environment and has an organised approach
- Be able to work in a fast-paced workplace
- Must have a current Working with Children Check and National Police Check
