Position Overview: 

As a Chemical / Process Engineer at HAZ, you will be an integral part of our team, working on challenging projects in Hazardous Areas and the emerging Hydrogen Industry. You will be responsible for specializing in the design and review of specifications related to process systems, report preparation, and providing technical guidance to inspectors and clients. Your role will contribute to the safety and compliance of our projects, ensuring they meet industry standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepares technical documentation, including P&ID's, PFD's, and conducts hydraulic calculations.
• Designs and plans chemical process systems for use in oil, gas, and hydrogen applications, incorporating separation methods, material-specific testing, and safety considerations.
• Participates in design reviews and Hazard and Operability Studies (HAZOPs) for projects related to oil, gas, and hydrogen.
• Prepares technical reports concerning Hazard Area classification and other facets of process safety within the oil, gas, and hydrogen sectors.
• Establishes and nurtures relationships with clients.
• Utilizes specialized process engineering software tailored for oil, gas, and hydrogen applications.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related fields, such as Process Engineering, Gas Engineering (or recognized by Engineers Australia).
• Preferably with specialization in Process Safety.
• Understanding of Hazardous Areas.
• Minimum of 10 years of work experience, preferably in utilities, oil and gas, or mining.
• Prior experience in an engineering consultancy role is desirable.
• Confidence in supporting and providing guidance to others.
• Resident of Australia
• Unrestricted right to work in Australia.
• Strong diplomacy and client interaction skills.
• High-level report writing ability.
• Familiar with HYSYS,– preferred
