About the role:
The Chickpea Breeder is responsible for the field evaluation of chickpea lines, to develop improved varieties that enhance the productivity and profitability of Australian chickpea growers. The successful applicant will evaluate superior chickpea breeding lines through field evaluation in crop yield and disease trials The role will use industry best practice technologies based at Chickpea Breeding Australia's world-class Breeding & Research Facility located in Tamworth, NSW

We are looking for a go-getter to join our dedicated team. To be successful with this role you will have enthusiasm to develop technical knowledge and an understanding of plant breeding programs. In additional to your technical capabilities, you will also have strong leadership capabilities with the ability to lead and foster a strong team culture which provides opportunities for junior staff to further develop their skillset and capabilities.

- Degree in Agricultural Science or equivalent
- PhD in plant breeding or similar is highly desirable and/or demonstrated experience in plant breeding
- Valid driver's licence
- Willingness and ability to travel to remote locations within NSW and interstate frequently during peak periods.
